I'm hoping for a better 2008. 2007 wasn't bad, but it was too busy and too rushed and for most of the year, I felt under pressure 24/7.
One of the great things about 2007 was knitting. I finally "got" it. I finally understood what I was doing, what I was supposed to be doing, and all the resources out there online. Thanks Ravelry!
In 2007, I learned: to cable, to work on 2 circulars, magic loop method(which I've used a good bit). I've knit shawls, scarves, mitred squares(for the crayon box jacket), even a pumpkin. It's all been great fun!
In 2008, I am going to learn how to knit a sweater(class starts Jan 10). I've got mittens and sweaters and gloves in the cue. Should be exciting.
I've discovered that knitting is a stress-reliever, a creative outlet that is not on demand, something that keeps me focused. Do all the people in my life get it? No. But I have said from the beginning - this is something that is for me, not anyone else. If I choose to knit for someone else, great, but I'm doing it for me.
